Award winning garden
The garden reached the finals in the Daily Mail National gardens Competition, 2006.
There were over two thousand entries and it was selected in the final six.
It was featured at Hampton Court Palace Flower Show and Grenville & Alan were awarded a finalists plaque which is now proudly displayed in the garden.
Professor David Stevens the head judge for the competition reviewed the garden in the Daily Mail weekend magazine on Saturday 17th June 2006:
“Small gardens can be a challenge - microscopic plots are nearly impossible. So, what can you do with a sloping yard where you can virtually touch all the boundaries with arms outstretched?
The answer is a horticultural potted paradise with a split – level deck, background music and plants to die for. Add to this artificial rock that is better than the real thing, a wildlife pond and carefully chosen statuary and you have something better than special. Ferns, clipped box, Hostas and even a containerised Gunnera make up just part of the plant palette.”
